The Glaze of Obedience
If you watched today’s Trump cabinet meeting without gagging, congratulations—your gag reflex has officially been deprogrammed.
One by one, cabinet secretaries lined up to offer praise so syrupy, it could’ve been bottled and sold as MAGA maple. There were loyalty oaths disguised as policy updates, reverent nods at every Trumpian non-sequitur, and enough forced smiles to make a Botox convention look natural.
They spoke not as public servants but as courtiers in a crumbling monarchy—each hoping their devotion earns a retweet or a pardon. Meanwhile, the man perched above them, basking in their submission, continues to trade national security for applause lines and economic chaos for campaign slogans.
This isn’t governance. It’s performance art for an audience of one. And if we don’t call it what it is—authoritarian rot dressed up in red, white, and delusion—we’ll all be forced to bow next.
