Quote of the Day
“To abandon facts is to abandon freedom. If nothing is true, no one can criticize power.”
— Timothy Snyder, On Tyranny
Snyder’s warning echoes through this week’s headlines. Trump can only make crime his centerpiece if people stop believing in facts.
• He boasted about a 12-day homicide-free streak under his crackdown, but D.C. had already seen a 16-day run before federal troops hit the streets. He’s rewriting the timeline to suit his narrative.
• He insists crime is skyrocketing, but FBI and MPD data show violent crime down 26% year-over-year, with robberies, burglaries, and car thefts plunging to lows not seen in thirty years. The receipts are clear.
• He claimed his presence boosted the economy for restaurants, but chefs and owners—some nationally known—say they’re struggling with fewer patrons, scared tourists, and missing workers. The facts don’t match the propaganda.
Snyder was right: abandon facts, and you abandon freedom. Trump is daring us to let him define reality. The numbers tell a different story.

Tom here…..
Some of us don’t buy his bullshit. ( it seems it’s ALL bullshit)
