Fanone Took the Blows. Ed Martin Applauded the Attacker.
On January 6th, 2021, Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone was beaten unconscious by a mob waving Trump flags and screaming about patriotism. He suffered a heart attack and a traumatic brain injury defending democracy. When he testified before Congress, he wore his badge, his scars, and his truth.
Meanwhile, Ed Martin—the man Donald Trump picked to lead the U.S. Attorney’s Office in D.C.—was busy praising the very people who assaulted Fanone.
Martin called one of Fanone’s attackers, Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, “extraordinary.” That’s the same Hale-Cusanelli who stormed the Capitol in a Hitler mustache and told coworkers Hitler “should have finished the job.” He was convicted of five charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding.
Fanone nearly died defending this country. Martin made a hero out of the man who tried to destroy it.
This is not a gray area. You either stand with the cops who held the line on January 6—or you stand with the violent extremists who tried to tear it down. There is no middle ground.
We owe Officer Fanone—and every officer who risked their life that day—our full support. Ed Martin owes him an apology.
And the Department of Justice owes the American people a leader who sides with the Constitution—not cosplay Nazis.
Call to Action:
Demand the Senate reject Ed Martin’s appointment.
Demand justice for Michael Fanone.
Demand we stop pretending sedition is a political opinion.
