Regarding the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad
2028 Summer Olympic Games
Los Angeles, California, United States of America
Opening Ceremony: July 14, 2028 | Closing Ceremony: July 30, 2028
To the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), the LA28 Organizing Committee, American Athletes, Sponsors, and Advertisers:
Today, Judge Michael Luttig spoke a truth many of us have struggled to say plainly:
“The main problem in America today is that we have no leaders, and we have no leadership.”
In this vacuum of courage, you—the IOC, the USOPC, the LA28 Committee, and the entire Olympic community—have a choice:
To become instruments of normalization for an authoritarian regime, or to stand with the millions of Americans who refuse to surrender our democracy to spectacle.
This is not an ordinary political disagreement.
This is an unprecedented crisis in which the core ideals you claim to champion—human dignity, equality, freedom of expression, and peaceful competition—are in direct conflict with the reality of our nation under donald.
donald must be forced to resign or be impeached or in some other legal, nonviolent means removed from office immediately.
Therefore, I call on each of you to consider the following actions:
• To the International Olympic Committee:
Reevaluate whether the United States under authoritarian rule is fit to host the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad. You have relocated events before for lesser reasons. You have the moral authority to do so again.
• To the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and the LA28 Organizing Committee:
Declare publicly whether you will stand behind the Olympic Charter’s stated principles or allow the Games to become a propaganda showcase for a leader who defies those principles.
• To American Athletes:
Use your voice and your absence to remind the world that no medal is worth the price of complicity. Consider pledging to withdraw if democracy is not restored.
• To Sponsors and Advertisers:
Suspend all financial support for the Games should the United States remain under authoritarian rule. There will be no neutrality in history’s judgment.
• To Workers, Contractors, and Civic Leaders:
Prepare to organize a Stop Work Action on Olympic grounds and venues. Without your labor and cooperation, there can be no show.
This is not a threat.
This is a moral appeal.
If we cannot give up a sporting event, how can we claim we are willing to give up anything to protect our freedom?
History will not remember who won gold medals in 2028.
It will remember who had the courage to say:
“No. Not in my name.”
If you have ever wondered what you would have done in another era of moral crisis, this is your answer.
Join us. Refuse the spectacle. Help America strike down authoritarianism before it is too late.
With resolve,
Joyce Strong
In support of We the People
